The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro is a high-performance action camera built around a new generation 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, which features $2.4 μ m$ equivalent pixel size and an enhanced dynamic range of up to 13.5 stops. This sensor allows for superior low-light performance and can capture high-dynamic 4K/60fps video, or up to 4K/120fps in a 4:3 aspect ratio for maximum detail. The maximum still photo resolution is approximately 40 megapixels ( $7296 \times 5472$ ).

For professional-grade video, the camera supports 10-bit D-Log M and 10-bit HLG color modes. D-Log M is a flat color profile designed to retain maximum data in highlights and shadows, offering greater flexibility and depth for color grading in post-production. The camera is also equipped with a color temperature sensor to improve color accuracy, particularly when shooting underwater.

Stabilization is managed by three core Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) technologies:

RockSteady 3.0 / 3.0+: This is the primary EIS, providing exceptional stability for high-action scenes like cycling or skiing, though it involves a slight crop.
HorizonBalancing: Corrects horizontal tilt up to $\pm 4 5^{\circ}$ for smooth, level footage, and supports up to 4K/60fps video.
