The Bose QuietComfort Headphones, released in late 2023, succeed the QuietComfort 45 and serve as a simplified alternative to the flagship QuietComfort Ultra. Design & Build

Physically, the QuietComfort Headphones maintain Bose’s signature over-ear style: lightweight (~240g), foldable for compact storage, and made with durable plastic and soft leatherette padding. The headband and earcups are designed for extended wear without causing fatigue or overheating. Unlike the Ultra model, these retain physical buttons instead of touch-sensitive controls — preferred by users who value tactile feedback and reliability.

Controls include volume up/down, play/pause, voice assistant activation, and ANC mode switching. The headphones are available in Triple Black, White Smoke, and limited seasonal colors depending on region and retailer.

 Noise Cancellation & Awareness Mode

Bose’s world-class Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) is at the core of this model. The QC Headphones offer three modes:

• Quiet (ANC On) – blocks out low-frequency hums and midrange chatter with near-silence efficiency.

• Aware (Transparency) – allows ambient sounds to enter, useful for commuting or office use.

• Custom Modes – set via the Bose Music app, allowing users to personalize their ANC level and save presets.

In user testing, the ANC matches or slightly improves upon the QC45, blocking airplane engines, keyboards, and external chatter with ease. The Awareness mode is clear but slightly less natural than Apple’s Transparency mode.

 Sound Quality

Out of the box, sound is neutral and balanced, with a slight emphasis on the low-end — typical of Bose’s tuning philosophy. Vocals are clear, highs are smooth, and bass is present without overpowering. The Bose Music app offers a 3-band custom EQ, bass/treble sliders, and presets for enhanced flexibility.

While lacking support for high-resolution codecs (like LDAC), it performs reliably via SBC and AAC, delivering strong wireless performance for iOS and Android users alike.

Battery & Connectivity

• Battery Life: Up to 24 hours with ANC on, or ~20 hours with mixed usage. A 15-minute quick charge gives 2–3 hours of playback.

• Charging: USB-C (no wireless charging).

• Bluetooth: Version 5.1 with multipoint support, enabling two devices to connect simultaneously.

• Includes a 3.5mm cable for wired listening.

 Call Performance

Call quality is solid, with dual microphones and beamforming tech to isolate your voice in noisy environments. It isn’t on par with the Ultra’s 12-mic array but holds up well in real-world use.
