The Apple iPad Pro 11-inch (M5 Chip, 256GB), released in October 2025, represents Apple’s most significant push into “on-device AI” for tablets. The M5 Silicon & AI Performance

Unlike previous chips, the M5 introduces Neural Accelerators within every GPU core, specifically designed for Apple Intelligence tasks like real-time AI video masking and diffusion-based image generation.

Crucially, for the 256GB model, Apple has increased the base RAM to 12GB LPDDR5X (up from 8GB in the M4), with a boosted memory bandwidth of 153GB/s. This ensures that the device can handle large Foundation Models for AI without stuttering.

Ultra Retina XDR Display

The 11-inch display remains the industry-leading Tandem OLED panel, which uses two layers of OLED to achieve 1000 nits of sustained brightness and 1600 nits of peak HDR brightness. A new feature for the 2026 cycle is the 1-nit minimum brightness, allowing for comfortable use in pitch-black environments. It continues to support ProMotion (10Hz–120Hz) and is fully compatible with the Apple Pencil Pro.

 Connectivity and Battery

The M5 iPad Pro is the first to feature Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, utilizing Apple’s proprietary N1 wireless chip for lower latency. The USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 port has also been upgraded; it can now drive an external display at 4K resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate, a major win for creative professionals.
