The Pulse 3D Wireless Headset is Sony’s budget-tier wireless headset tailor-made for PS5, and also compatible with PS4, Windows, and macOS via the included USB‑A wireless dongle. You can optionally use a 3.5 mm audio cable (included) for VR use or wired connections to mobile devices. A key omission: no Bluetooth support, limiting broader wireless versatility

Audio Experience & Controls

Designed to support Sony’s Tempest 3D Audio Engine, the headset delivers immersive spatial sound in supported titles like Returnal, Spider‑Man, and Call of Duty. It includes three PS5 equalizer presets (standard, bass boost, shooter) plus three customizable slots. Feet detection and directional audio are noticeably enhanced in PS5-compatible environments

Design

At about 292 g, the headset is lightweight with a plastic shell and a rubberized suspension band beneath the rigid frame. Foam-padded earcups covered in synthetic leather rest over rather than around ears. Unfortunately, the earcups don’t swivel, which creates pressure points and limits noise isolation—especially uncomfortable for users with larger heads or ears .

Microphone & Chat Quality

It uses dual built-in noise‑cancelling microphones, offering a clean, unobtrusive aesthetic. However, mic pickup is tinny or muffled in noisy settings, and passive isolation is weak. Gamers have noted in multiplayer that voice clarity isn’t as reliable compared to headsets with boom mics

Battery & Connectivity

Sony advertises up to 12 hours of wireless play per charge. Real-world testing supports ~10–12 hours usage before recharge—a decent but not leading battery life in this class. Power via USB‑C, and you can continue using it wired with the 3.5 mm cable if battery runs out
